Summary of Threshold Price
A minimum import price for commodities established under the common Agricultural Policy (read this and related legal terms for further details) of the European Economic Community, set so as not to hamper sales of EEC produce within the community. The threshold price of grain, for example, is computed by subtracting from the Target Price (read this and related legal terms for further details) the costs of inland transportation and handling to the EEC market center evidencing the greatest shortage of the commodity. Costs would be calculated from the nearest ocean port to the market center.
